“I mean, I want them to achieve their goals and not, hopefully have to deal with too much discrimination or bullying, or you know, medical problems, we want them to just be happy and well adjusted.”

Meanwhile, Bill says he is aiming for the stars—literally—when it comes to his kids’ education and future careers (albeit, with a good dose of humor mixed in!!)

“MIT, Harvard, Princeton, any of those places,” the proud pops says. “Investment banker, Attorney General… the space program—sure, whatever, you know, astronaut sounds good!”

One thing the couple is agreed on though is raising their children, who both were born overseas—Will is from China, and Zoey, who they are still in the adoption process with, is from India—as American first and foremost.

“They’re primarily going to be raised American,” Jen says. “But we definitely want them to know and understand and be familiar with their cultures, so we definitely plan on making trips back to India and China when they’re old enough and when they’re able to understand and appreciate it.

“And we’re going to celebrate the Chinese new year and I hope we will celebrate Diwali when we get Zoey home, so we’re trying to learn as much as we can about their cultures and we’ve got a good friend here whose mom is from China and she’s taught us some authentic cooking, and we have friends who are Indian so we’re going to learn a lot from them.

“I actually have five saris myself…. so they’ll have a lot of aunties to help them with their heritage and new information on that but at the same time they’re definitely going to be all-American because that’s where they’re going to be growing up.”

“I just want to say, we will also be Yankees, Giants fans!” Bill adds.

And, when it comes to more kids?

“Unless someone from India calls us back and says, ‘Hey by the way, [Zoey] happens to have seven brothers and sisters,’” Bill interjects.

“Yeah, we won’t say no to any siblings, but at the same time that’s not in the plan!” Jen clarifies.

The Little Couple’s Perilous Journey To Parenthood—All The Highs & Lows Of Bill & Jen’s Emotional Roller Coaster Ride!

They say all good things are worth waiting (and fighting) for—and when it comes to being parents TLC’s The Little Couple has had to do plenty of both!

Jen Arnold and Bill Klein‘s journey to parenthood over the past few years has been an emotional roller coaster, to say the least, and as they finally reach their destination, with the happy news of not one, but two, new additions to their family, TLC is taking a look back at their struggle in an hour long special—and OKMagazine.com has an exclusive clip.

Bill Klein and Jen Arnold’s journey to become parents has been well documented throughout their show, The Little People

Bill puts it best himself, summing up their epic emotional battle to achieve their dream of being parents perfectly in one short sentence!

“The road to paradise has been quite a journey!” He says.

“Full of twists and turns!” Dr. Jen adds.

And, it really has.

After undergoing rigorous testing, Jen was given the heartbreaking advice not to get pregnant herself, due to her skeletal dysplasia

Cameras have followed the couple—who wed in 2008 and first appeared on TV in a May 2009 hour long special called Little People: Just Married—throughout the early days of their marriage, and their struggle to start a family has been well documented throughout the show’s history.

As previously reported, after undergoing a series of rigorous tests, Jen, who is 3’2″ and works as a pediatric doctor at the Texas Children’s Hospital, was given the heartbreaking advice not to try to get pregnant herself, due to her skeletal dysplasia, a bone-growth disorder.

Bill and Jen were ecstatic to learn their surrogate was pregnant, but tragically she soon lost the baby

The couple immediately started looking into their best options and Jen subsequently had her eggs harvested and implanted into a surrogate.

The treatment worked pretty much straight away, but tragically, the surrogate lost the baby in the early stages of pregnancy.

Both Jen and Bill were clearly overcome with emotion the first time they saw their son Will

Then the pair started the grueling process of adoption, enlisting the help of Rainbow Kids, an online agency that specializes in placing special needs children from overseas with families in the U.S.

And that’s when the happy ending finally begins!

3-year-old Will was born in China, and like his parents he suffers from a form of dwarfism

Bill and Jen were ecstatic when they learned they had been matched with Will, an adorable 3-year-old boy from China, who, like both his adopted parents, suffers from a form of dwarfism.

Then, hot on the heels of their first adoption, Bill and Jen learned the happy news that they had also been matched with Zoey, a 19-month-old girl from India, who also has dwarfism.

Although Will is already a TV veteran, having made his small screen debut on the Katie Couric show where his proud parents introduced him to the world—we have yet to meet Zoey, but if she is even half as adorable as her big brother we’re going to have our hearts stolen!

The proud parents! Finally Bill and Jen’s dream is acheived with not one, but two children!

In the meantime, tune into TLC on Tuesday at 10/9 central to watch Bill and Jen’s journey to parenthood.

Little Couple Hear Heartbreaking Details Of Adopted Children’s Health Issues

Little Couple Hear Heartbreaking Details Of Adopted Children’s Health Issues

Bill Klein and Jennifer Arnold are in full parental mode!

As OKMagazine.com previously reported, The Little Couple is adding further to their family, with the addition of a little girl they are adopting from India.

The Little Couple, Jen Arnold and Bill Klein, head to meet with an expert on health issues facing children from overseas adoptions

They recently added adorable three-year-old Will, who they adopted from China, and they are now getting ready for the arrival of a 19-month-old girl, who they have named Zoey.

Like all good parents, Bill and Jen want to make sure they are fully prepared for their new additions to the family, and with that in mind the couple dropped by the Pediatric International Adoption Clinic, which is located in Texas Children’s Hospital, where Jen works as a neonatologist.

Bill and Jen have already adopted Will, an adorable three-year-old boy from China

Both children have a form of dwarfism, and although they are yet to be diagnosed on U.S. soil, it is thought both Will and Zoey have the same type—achondroplasia, which occurs in about one out of 26,000 to 40,000 babies and is evident at birth.

“There are over 200 types of dwarfism,” Bill explains in an exclusive sneak peek from Tuesday’s episode, which you can watch here at OKMagazine.com.

“Achondroplasia is the most common form.”

Bill and Jen meet with Dr. Montgommery, who has studied medical records for Will and Zoey, who the couple is adopting from India

In the clip, Bill and Jen sit down with Dr. Montgommery, an expert in dealing with parents about to travel abroad to pick up their adopted child and bring them home.

Heartbreakingly, Dr. Montgommery explains that children who have been institutionalized for any period of time are found to behind other children developmentally.

OK! NEWS: JOSH DUGGAR SET TO BEAT FAMILY RECORD: “WE WANT 25 KIDS”

“If someone is institutionalized, in either an orphanage, or in  foster care—for every three-four months they are in there they’ll be behind by about a month,” the Dr. explains.

Bill and Jen hear the heartbreaking news that both their children are developmentally behind due to being institutionalized

Then after studying charts for Will and Zoey, she gives her opinion on the children’s state of health.

See How the Duggar Family Plan to Expand their Brood to 20 Kids!

“Both Zoey and Will would fall into high risk catagories,” she explains. “Mostly because there’s a chance they could have future medical issues, in fact, we don’t know their diagnosis exactly for sure right now.”

The Dr. informs Jen and Bill that Will is both underweight and under height for his age

The Dr. gives them a further run-down on the children’s stats, showing they are both behind where they should be when it comes to their physical development.

“[Weightwise] Will falls in less than the third percentile, shorter than 97 percent of boys his age—even if he is only compared to other boys with achondroplasia, he’s still very small,” the Dr. says.

Just like daddy! Proud mom Jen tweeted a photo of Will on his journey from China to his new home

“For weight for Zoey, less than the third percentile, height less than the third percentile.”

Not surprisingly, both Jen and Bill take the news fully in their stride, as the proud papa explains they want as much information now to ensure they can give their children the best treatment possible when they bring them home.

Will made his worldwide TV debut on the Katie Couric show last month

“Meeting with Dr. Montgommery was definitely helpful,” Bill says. “The importance is to understand as soon as we can what kind of dwarfism each of our children have to pursue a regiment of treatment so they are able to live fruitful and happy lives.”

Amen to that!

You can watch the full episode on TLC Tuesday 10/9 central.
